I am a slow thinker, curious, and enamored with learning, leadership, and philosophy.
I build software and have done so since I can remember. The past two decades have been a pleasant mix of building and leading large software engineering teams. I now serve as SVP, Engineering at Doximity. Additionally, I am proud to be a Founding Board Member of The Rails Foundation.
An IBM XT computer enraptured me; I was but ten years old. I’ve spent the rest of my life trying to recreate that feeling.
I’ve built several commercial software products with C++ and Ruby, ran a successful software agency for five years, and sold a small start-up.
I am a small investor and advisor to a couple of brilliant companies. I am grateful to have a lovely wife and two kids.
I emigrated from Brazil to the U.S. at the age of 14. When I was 15, I started working to pay my way. Since then, I’ve learned a lifetime’s worth of lessons from spectacular mentors, colleagues, and friends. I live with my family in Miami.
I hope the content here challenges your assumptions. I have fun writing it.
